Tipping and Payments

Suggested Tipping:

• In Restaurants: If a 10% service charge isn’t included, a 5-10% tip is a nice gesture of appreciation.
• Hotels: Porters and housekeeping staff usually receive small tips (e.g., 1–2 USD for bags, a few dinars for room cleaning).
• Taxis: Rounding up to the nearest whole figure is common and appreciated. 
• Tour Guides: A nominal tip for guides — especially those who provide exceptional insight — helps supplement their income. 

• Currency: Jordanian Dinar (JOD); while US dollars and Euros are also accepted in some areas 
• ATMs: Widely available in cities and tourist areas.
• Credit cards: Accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops. Carry some cash for smaller vendors.
